Hello, everyone! It’s Roslyn Saunders, your codependency recovery coach.

I wanted to share a couple of tips and insights from my book. One key point I want to highlight is that the main reason we turn to any addiction, whether it’s drama, disappointment, self-sabotage, substances, food, or busyness, is because we struggle to manage our emotions.

To start healing, we need to recognise and acknowledge our feelings. It’s important to seek support from someone who can help us with this process.

Lately, I’ve personally found breathwork and ice baths to be incredibly beneficial for connecting with our bodies and releasing the emotions that have accumulated over our lives.

These suppressed emotions often drive our addictive behaviors, so it’s crucial to address them. Remember, we are emotional beings, and managing our emotions requires assistance.

We need to break down the overwhelming aspects of our lives and gradually diminish our dependencies to develop emotional strength.

This internal emotional sobriety is our responsibility, and seeking support is essential because we often struggle to see what we truly need.

Personally, I always have coaches to guide me. So, my suggestion for today is to understand that the number one reason for addiction is our inability to manage emotions, which reside within us.
