Hi Everyone, welcome back. I am Roslyn SaundersCodependency and Addiction Coach Specialist.

Today’s topic and insights are about codependency and men.

I feel there’s a perception that codependency is primarily a woman’s issue. We’re often raised with the idea that women are more likely to over give and over-obligate. However, I want to emphasise that codependency affects men just as much. They might not identify with it or be as open to addressing it, but it’s definitely present.

I’ve had many men reach out to me through my marketing, seeking help. I believe men are suffering, but they might not be as vocal about it as women have become over the years, thanks to the growth of personal development. I remember attending courses 30 years ago where there would be one man and 50 women. Now, more and more men are recognizing their struggles and seeking support.

Codependency is very real in men. In fact, I’ve been coaching a client named Justin for several months. He’s been doing so well that he’s even considering starting his own business to help other men who are going through similar challenges.

If you’re struggling, please reach out to me for a 20-minute chat. It’s casual and confidential, and we can explore your situation and see how I can support you. The most important thing I tell my clients is that you’re not alone. Having someone walk beside you, someone to hold your hand and support you when you’re down, can make a world of difference. It prevents you from spiralling further downwards and allows you to start peeling back layers of honesty.

Just to recap, codependency definitely affects men, and I’ve had great success coaching them. A few years ago, I coached two high-profile professors. These individuals had numerous degrees, but their emotional lives and inability to say no were causing them significant distress.

Thanks for tuning in today, and I’ll talk to you next time. Thank you, bye!
