Hi Everyone, welcome back. I am Roslyn Saunders, Co-dependency and Addiction Coach Specialist.
Following on from my last video on codependency in the workplace and corporate environments, a lot of codependents have difficulty saying no.
They’ll put off their own work to do too many tasks for other people. They might even enable others to get away with not doing their work by covering for them, especially when it comes to people in higher positions.
Codependents keep giving and giving, even when it’s outside their boundaries and, as I mentioned last time, outside their job description. They might do this because they fear losing their job or want to impress someone.
We need to be careful about becoming too connected to people at work. I’ll discuss this further down the track.
I know it’s important to connect and collaborate, but especially when starting a new job, it’s good to pull back a bit, stay focused on your role, and take care of yourself.
I hope that helps today.
